Oregon State Parks

Dad had one of his crazy ideas yesterday! Well actually Mom had a Great Idea! and Dad went nuts with it. Given that it was 60 degrees in Portland yesterday and Clara and I were already done sharing all of our valentines, Mom suggested we go for a hike.

We all gathered into the car, since we do live in the city after all, and headed out to Tryon Creek State Park. What a beautiful place once Dad was able to find it. Something about not having a direct route from the inner east side of Portland to the inner south west, or something or other. Basically it's right on Terwilliger Blvd. right next to Lewis and Clark! Remind me to double check Dad's GPS before I let him take Clara and I on an overnight backpacking trip.

Anywho, we had a marvelous stroll through the woods. Clara and I listened to the birds and we kept hearing this vicious ROAR! I thought it was a Lion, Clara said a monster. Mom thought it was an airplane. That made the most sense. We looked for fish in the stream because but didn't have any luck. The stream was too small for big fish, so I told dad I was looking for baby fish. We live in Salmon country! I'll show you some pictures of them from a different trip. We stopped for a snack along the way. Clara did not carry the backpack the whole time, she just grabbed all the photo opportunities. I carried while it was full of bean bags from Grandma's house. I call it practicing for our bigger hikes with Dad.

So back to Dad's crazy idea! He thinks it would be some kinda cool quest to visit EVERY STATE PARK IN OREGON!!!! That means all 196 of them! See here's his list, he is such a Computer Dork!

He may be a dork, but I'm really looking forward to going with him. Previously reported visits may count, but I'll have to check with Dad! We're already scheduled for Silver Falls in June! I think we can fit quite a few more in before than. So check back here often to see me update our progress. Oh! I almost forgot! Remember those Salmon I mentioned...

I don't know why people say Fishing is hard, there are signs everywhere pointing right to them fish!
